AHA classes / healthcare providers

 

 

ACLS:  Upon completion** of this class the participant will demonstrate knowledge of HIGH QUALITY CPRand how to respond to cardiorespiratory emergencies by using the systematic ACLS guidelines of the American Heart Association, (AHA). You will know how to evaluate and manage a sudden adult respiratory arrest, VF/VT arrest, asystole, pulseless electrical activity, bradycardias, stable and unstable tachycardias, acute coronary syndromes, and acute stroke and electrical therapy.


PALS:  Upon completion** of this PALS class the healthcare provider will be able to demonstrate HIGH QUALITY CPR”, and understand how to recognize and prevent the common causes of pediatric injuries and emergencies that require resuscitation. You will understand how to recognize respiratory and shock emergencies, cardiac arrest, and initiate advanced resuscitation with airway and ventilation control, vascular access, fluid and medication therapy, as well as identify and treat rhythm disturbances.


BLS:  Upon completion** of this class for the healthcare provider, the participant will learn and practice HIGH QUALITY CPR” and be able to describe the links in the American Heart Association (AHA) Chain of Survival. This will include the call of 911, performing 1 and 2 rescuer CPR with rescue breathing using mouth-to-mouth, face shield, mouth-to-mask, and the bag mask device, basic use of an AED and relieving foreign body airway obstruction for the adult, child, or infant victim.

                          Course length: Approx.  3-4 hours.  Certification valid for 2 years.

 

NRP/ NEONATAL:  The NRP test is almost 100 questions and covers a great deal of material. Students MUST study for about 4-8 hours prior to taking this course! Upon completion** of this NRP class the healthcare provider will be able to understand how to recognize and prevent the common causes of neonatal emergencies that require resuscitation. You'll understand how to recognize respiratory failure and initiate advanced resuscitation with airway and ventilation control, vascular access, as well as fluid and medication therapy.

 

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS, CARDS & COURSE COMPLETION LETTERS

Our courses follow the guidelines established by the American Heart Association (AHA). Upon the successful completion of the written exam and practical parts of this program you will receive your AHA card. Continuing education (CE’s) credit for contact hours are provided for all ACLS, PALS & NRP provider or renewal classes. The number of Contact Hours of CE credit obtained depends on the number of actual hours we, as a group, need to complete the program, i.e.; If we finish in 3 hours then you get 3 contact hours of CE credit; If we finish in 6 hours then you get 6 contact hours of credit, and so on, or as various agencies permit, according to their specific guidelines or authority.

 

 

For community and workplace

Our Community and Workplace Courses have been developed using the same evidence-based process as all American Heart Association Emergency Cardiovascular Care courses which are recognized and accepted Nationwide for Healthcare Professionals and State Regulatory  requirements.  These classes can be completed separately or combined to meet specific workplace and individual needs.  Class lengths listed are approximate and will vary depending on actual number of participants in any given class.

 

CPR & AED Class:  Upon completion** of this class the lay person, with a duty to respond, (non healthcare providers) will know all aspects described in the Heartsaver CPR class in addition to use of an automated external defibrillator (AED). Participants practice skills using the Practice While Watch video concept and perform a practical skills evaluation. Students will perform a practical skills evaluation.

             Course length:  4-hours.  Certification valid for 2 years.

First Aid Class:  Upon completion** of this class rescuers will be able to effectively recognize and treat adult emergencies, in the critical first minutes, until emergency medical services personnel arrive.  Students will learn how to identify and give aid to victims with the following conditions: asthma, stroke, choking, severe allergic reactions, use of epinephrine injectors, diabetic emergencies, seizures, bleeding, burns, broken bones, and a variety of environmental emergencies, including animal, insect, and snake bites, heat stroke and hypothermia.  This course combines knowledge as well as practical hands-on skills. The course meets OSHA requirements and provides corporations with a complete training solution for Adult First Aid. Students will perform a practical skills evaluation.

             Course length: approx. 4 hours.  Certification valid for 2 years.

Pediatric First Aid Class:

This course is designed to meet the specific needs of child daycare providers in all 50 states. The course meets CA Health & Safety Code Section 1596.866 requirements for Teachers, Bus drivers, Foster Parents, and Daycare Facilities as well as CA Education Code Section 35179.1 requirements for Coaches,  Youth Sport Organizations, and Camp Counselors. The modular format creates course flexibility. Learners will receive feedback from an instructor while learning skills  Each student receives the highest quality course materials to supplement their learning. This course combines knowledge as well as practical hands-on skills, that is a complete training solution for Pediatric First Aid. Students will perform a practical skills evaluation.

             Course length: approx. 8.0  hours.  Certification valid for 2 years.

 

 

BABY-SITTERS

Baby-Sitter Class:   .  (It is recommended that participants be at least
12 years of age.)  Upon completion** of this class the participant will be able to know
how to manage and care for a choking infant or child.  The participant will understand the importance of baby sitting safety, injury prevention, and learn skills for basic first aid.
             Course length: approx. 6.5 hours.
